Mini-mal surfboards are a great choice for beginner surfers who are coming off their foamie, or for improver and intermediate surfers who prefer a bigger board to ride in smaller wave conditions. Around 7ft to 8’6, and usually wider than a mid length, mini-mal surfboards give you confidence when surfing your first green waves. 

Once you have mastered the basics of riding a foamie or soft top, larger mini-mal surfboards are perfect for beginners who are wanting to learn the skills needed for riding green waves out the back, past the white water.

Smaller mini-mals or mini longboard surfboards can serve as a great ‘one board quiver’ for a range of surfers who prefer a cruisey ride over thrashing shortboards.
